Thread Gages

A thread gage, also known as a screw gage or pitch gage, is used to measure the pitch or lead of a screw thread.

Thread pitch gages are used as a reference tool in determining the pitch of a thread that is on a screw or in a tapped hole. This tool is not used as a precision measuring instrument, rather it allows the user to determine the profile of the given thread and quickly categorize the thread by shape and pitch. This device also saves time, in that it removes the need for the user to measure and calculate the pitch of the threaded item.

In this collection, we have Standard & Metric Thread Plug Gage Assemblies that include both GO and NO GO segments. We also offer GO and NO GO Ring Gages, as well as NPT Thread Plug and Ring Gages.

Certificate of Accuracy

• All of our manufacturers include a Certificate of Accuracy with their Thread Gages off-the-shelf. These Certificates are statements that the gage has been verified to be accurate from the manufacturer, and that the manufacturer has used NIST-traceable gages to perform this verification. However, this is NOT a Certificate of Calibration.

Certificate of Calibration

• None of our manufacturers include a Certificate of Calibration with thier gages off-the-shelf. If the customer needs a Certificate of Calibration, that is a NIST-traceable document with verified readings, this is an additional Calibration Service that needs to be quoted with the gage. The standard lead time for a Calibration Service adds about 1-week to the lead time of the gage.
